In-line computerized laser monitors inspect the dimensions of the tubing. The finished tubing is coiled at the end of the extrusion line and immediately packaged in heat-sealed bags to maintain cleanliness. Unlike peroxide cured silicone tubing, platinum cured products require no post-baking or manual residue removal. Platinum cured silicone tubing is ready for inspection and shipment immediately following manufacture.
Another notable difference between peroxide and platinum cured silicone tubing is the manufacturing environment. NewAge's platinum cured products are made in Class 10,000 (ISO 14644-1 Class 7) level clean rooms that use positive air flow HEPA filtration systems to remove dust particles and other impurities to protect the products from contamination. The ISO classification, which is defined by categories of particle size and count per cubic meter, is verified regularly by a third party.
Additionally, workers in the clean rooms wear protective clothing that does not generate lint and that minimizes skin and hair particulate from entering the room's atmosphere. All employees must enter the clean rooms through gowning rooms, areas used only for the donning and removal of protective clothing.
Peroxide cured products, on the other hand, are manufactured in a white room environment. It's still a very clean area—an absolute must—because silicone is a tacky product to which many things, like hair and lint and dust, are drawn.
