Types of Tests for Plastics & Rubber

Thermoplastic and thermoset (rubber) materials can undergo all sorts of tests to determine their physical properties and performance characteristics. The tests are often done on small sections of material and may not always translate precisely to the material when it is extruded or formed into tubing. But the test results are often used for comparison in order to choose the best material for a particular application.

Below you'll find some of the tests performed on NewAge Industries' product materials and used to help evaluate the expected performance of plastic and rubber tubing.

Elongation
The fractional increase in length of a material stressed in tension; also known as Elongation at Break; expressed as a percentage of the starting length
