A Fitting Comparison

Hose AssembliesBarbed, push-to-connect, compression, cam operated – how do you decide which one to use? Here's a quick rundown:

Barbed

  • What it looks like: This fitting has a single barb or multiple barbs on at least one end.
  • Styles available: Tees (T's), wyes (Y's), elbows, adapters, swivels, single use/disposable
  • How it works: The barbed end is inserted into the end of a section of tubing. The function of the barbs is to grip the interior wall of the tubing, without damaging the wall, to assist with holding the fitting in place.

Silbrade – Additional Lengths Now Available

Silicone hoseDid you know that Silbrade is now stocked in 25 and 50 foot lengths? It's another example of how NewAge Industries responds to customer input.

For many years, we had offered most sizes of Silbrade braid reinforced silicone hose in 100 foot lengths and in 50 foot lengths for a few larger sizes. But customers kept asking for shorter coils – 25's and 50's for the smaller sizes, plus 25 foot lengths for the larger sizes. They just didn't always want so much hose in one coil.
