NYLON-11 TUBING REINTRODUCED AND AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE DELIVERY
 |
Southampton, PA
NYLOTUBE®, our brand of nylon tubing, recently
experienced a line expansion with the reintroduction of the
nylon-11 formulation as a stock product. While typically more
costly, nylon-11 offers benefits over the nylon-12 formulation
(also stocked), most notably that its natural color, semi-rigid
grade is manufactured from an FDA-sanctioned compound.
The NYLOTUBE line generally works well in applications involving
compressed air; instrumentation lines; refrigeration and cooling
systems; appliances and housewares; dispensing equipment; paint
supply; chemical transfer; grease, oil, and fuel lines;
laboratory use; and food and beverage lines (with the natural
color, semi-rigid grade).
For years we carried the nylon-11 formulation of NYLOTUBE as our
sole nylon offering. It was then discontinued after compound
shortages and drastically rising costs in favor of nylon 12,
which has similar product performance. "But we discovered that
some customers did not want the new, nylon-12 formulation," said
NewAge IndustriesÕ Director of Marketing and Product
Development, Donald G. Warner. "It didnÕt fit food applications
that needed FDA-sanctioned materials, so we determined that the
best solution was to offer both versions and allow our customers
the opportunity to select the product that best fits their
requirements."
Other benefits of nylon-11 NYLOTUBE include its light weight,
excellent resistance to flex fatigue, low moisture absorption
(1.4% maximum at room temperatureÑthe lowest figure of all
nylons), availability of inch and metric sizes and up to eight
colors, and the tightest size tolerances available. NYLOTUBE
will not swell or become brittle, offers excellent pressure
ratings, and is manufactured in two grades: semi-rigid and
flexible.
NYLOTUBE Nylon-11 tubing is stocked in sizes from 1/8" through
1" O.D. and 4mm through 12mm O.D. Easy-to-use, push-to-connect
fittings in plastic or brass, called Newloc®, mate well with
NYLOTUBE and are available from stock. The nylon-12 formulation
of NYLOTUBE is also manufactured, offering slightly different
tensile strengths.
