Southampton, PA A unique flexible tubing of 100% pure Viton® rubber, called VITUBE®, is now available from stock from NewAge® Industries, Inc. With its combined chemical and heat resistance properties, engineers often specify VITUBE for fuel and oil lines, chemical processing and transfer, peristaltic pumps, cable jacketing, appliances, hot lubrication service, solvent conveyance, and more.
VITUBE withstands a variety of petroleum-based fluids and hydrocarbons. Oils, fuels, lubricants, and mineral acidswhich can act as solvents on other rubbers, causing disintegration and tubing failurewill not effect VITUBE. It also resists many aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, such as benzene, toluene, xylene, and carbon tetrachloride.
But VITUBEs most important benefit involving its chemical resistance is its ability to handle these fluids at high temperatures, something other rubbers cannot do. The products general temperature range is -30°F to 400°F, although it has withstood continuous service temperatures of 600°F for 48 hours and 500°F for 1,000 hours.
Another benefit is VITUBEs weather resistance. It withstands long-term sun and ozone exposure and has, in fact, exhibited little or no change in properties or appearance after 13 years of exposure in direct Florida sunlight.
VITUBE offers a matte black finish, and the eleven I.D. sizes range from 1/32 to 7/8. Two Shore A hardnesses, 60 and 75, are stocked for the best possible fit for each particular application. Other sizes and hardnesses are available through custom order.
