Southampton, PA Available from NewAge® Industries, Inc. is Silcon® silicone tubing for applications requiring pliability, non-toxicity, and temperature resistance. This extremely flexible product is used in various industries such as appliance, medical, aerospace, chemical, food and beverage, office equipment, pharmaceutical, personal care products, and many others, thanks to its diverse features.
Silcons performance characteristics make it a versatile product that may be used in a wide range of applications. For example, Silcons good electrical properties and its ability to self extinguish make it an excellent choice for appliances and high temperature equipment, such as computers and copiers. The medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and food industries use Silcon because it is odorless, tasteless, and inert, and may be steam sterilized or autoclaved. Silcons resistance to temperature extremesfrom -100°F to 500°F*and to U.V., ozone, and gases allow its use in laboratories, the aerospace and automotive industries, and as insulation sleeving.
Naturally flexible Silcon is manufactured from FDA-sanctioned ingredients and is listed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF 51). It does not contain plasticizers (ingredients added to make materials more pliable), which can leach out and cause contamination. Silcon is translucent, allowing the user to view materials within the tubing. Stocked sizes range from 1/16 to 3/4 I.D.
Medical-grade versions of Silcon® are also manufactured by NewAge Industries. Silcon Medical and Silcon Med-X are clean-room produced from silicone elastomer that meets USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) Class VI requirements. Both medical types offer performance and physical properties similar to those of regular Silcon, along with special surface qualities. Silcon Medical is peroxide cured, like Silcon, while Silcon Med-X is platinum cured, offering the least amount of extractables. Custom colors and sizes, braid-reinforced silicone hose, and special vacuum-rated silicone hose are also available from NewAge Industries.
*When used in an NSF application, the maximum operating temperature is 350°F.
