Southampton, PA — NewAge Industries is pleased to announce that its Silvac® Silicone Suction Hose is now manufactured with platinum-cured silicone elastomer. Previously produced with peroxide-cured silicone, Silvac now offers a higher level of purity and a smoother hose surface for unrestricted fluid flow. The durable, multi-layered hose benefits applications such as hot or cold fill lines, pharmaceutical and food processing, chemical transfer, viscous material handling, vacuum systems, beverage and dairy service, and many others.
Silvac is constructed of pure, platinum-cured silicone, woven polyester fabric, and spiral stainless steel wire reinforcement. Platinum-cured silicone provides several advantages: the reduction of residue leftover from the curing process, a lower potential for leachables, and a smooth surface both inside and out. All ingredients are non-toxic, odorless, tasteless, and inert.
Designed to address the needs of applications where both suction and temperature variations are involved, Silvac may be used at temperatures ranging from -80°F to 350°F. It offers a vacuum rating of 29.9 in./Hg at 70°F. The hose resists kinks, crushing, and collapse yet stays flexible.
Silvac is manufactured in a clean, controlled environment on dedicated equipment. Pieces are individually packaged in polybags for protection from dirt and contamination. Silvac may be steam sterilized or autoclaved and reused.
Stocked in five popular sizes—from 1/2” through 2” I.D.—Silvac® is available for immediate delivery. Twelve-foot lengths are standard. NewAge Industries also offers a wide variety of fittings, cam-operated couplings, and clamps for attachments. Specially shaped pieces, such as elbows, and custom hose assemblies are available as well.
