Southampton, PA NewAge Industries announces the immediate availability of its Cam Operated Couplings in two additional materials: PVDF and food-grade polypropylene. Added to its offering of nylon and industrial-grade polypropylene couplings, the selection now addresses the needs of both industrial and food-related applications involving fluid handling.
While all four Cam Operated Coupling materials offer similar performance properties high impact strength, a much lighter weight than metal counterparts, and resistance to acids and solvents each provides specific benefits. The new PVDF option, made from FDA-approved ingredients, withstands temperatures as high as 300°F and is UV stable. Food-grade polypropylene couplings resist animal, vegetable, and mineral oils, as well as alkalis, salts, and alcohol. Both PVDF and food-grade polypropylene may be sterilized.
Durable nylon couplings are corrosion resistant and handle pressures up to 175 psi, depending on size. Industrial polypropylene offers the highest degree of acid resistance and, like nylon, is electrically non-conductive.
All of NewAges Cam Operated Couplings are made to MIL-C-27487 dimensions and are fully interchangeable with other materials made to the same standard. Gaskets are produced from EPDM, while handles and pins are manufactured from stainless steel. Colors easily identify the different materials food-grade polypropylene is white, PVDF is translucent, nylon is yellow, and industrial polypropylene is black. Standard coupling types of A, B, C, D, E, F, DP, and DC are stocked, and sizes range from 1/4 through 4. BSPT (metric) threads are available through minimum order.
